Meet Milton Fielding

Four decades in Brazil. A lifetime on the Amazon.

1980s - 1990s

Brazil Became Home.

Originally from a small town in south Georgia, Milton Fielding arrived in Brazil in the 1980s through mission work in Manaus. There, he met his first wife, Gloria. They married in Brazil, welcomed two children born there, and spent nearly three decades serving communities through ministry along the Amazon and its rivers.

Over those years, Brazil became far more than the place Milton had come to serve. It became home.

And whenever ministry and family life allowed, Milton went fishing.

1990's to Today

A lifetime on the water.

Milton spent decades exploring the waterways of the Amazon—learning river systems, fishing remote tributaries and building relationships with the Brazilian guides and communities who understand this wilderness best.

In the 1990s, he built the Amazon Queen, one of the early fishing riverboats operating in the region. Legendary angler Roland Martin and friends would later fish the Amazon aboard the boat during an era when Brazil's extraordinary peacock bass fishery was only beginning to gain international attention.

More than 40 years later, Milton is still exploring.

“Some things you learn from a map. Others take 40 years on the river.”

2022 - Today

A New Chapter

After nearly three decades of marriage and ministry together, Milton lost Gloria to breast cancer in 2022.

He continued the ministry work that had defined so much of his life in Brazil. In 2025, that work introduced him to Daniele. The two married later that year and began building a new chapter together.

They also found themselves sharing an idea: after a lifetime spent exploring Brazil and its rivers, why not invite others into the experience?

In 2025, Milton and Daniele founded Amazon Peacock Bass Fishing.

Today, they welcome anglers from around the world to fish remote Amazon waters, experience the country they call home and become part of a story that began decades before ABPF ever had a name.

“Absolutely the best fishing experience you'll ever have. Like anything in the Amazon, it's pretty rugged, but you're there to fish. I took my wife and she loved it.”
